What is GPS?   GPS stands for Global Positioning Satellite. GPS radios receive signals from specialized GPS satellites orbiting the earth. The GPS receives analyze these signals to determine were on earth you are to within about 20 feet.   Learn more about how GPS works here, here, and here.

Geocaching is a fun hobby that combines treasure hunting and technology! Using a GPS receiver (any one will do!), you enter the cache’s coordinates and find the cache!
